2020 Graduation Information

Parents and Community Members,

I hope you are doing well and staying safe.  It sure is quiet here at the school.  I want you to know that we have truly missed the students and all the end of the year activities.  We think of the students often and wish you were here.  Monday night, the School Board decided to help celebrate the 8th-grade promotion and the Senior graduation by creating a video of each student receiving their diploma.  We have hired a professional for this production and we want to give this video to each graduate as a sign of our appreciation and best wishes for a successful future.  Here are a few important details we shared with each graduate.

Friday, May 1  -  8th graders and Seniors may pick up your cap and gown along with all locker belongings from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. You can pull up to the front entrance at the high school and someone will hand everything to you. If you have any books to return, please do so at this time. No one will be allowed to enter the building. ( Pickup information will be provided at a later date for the other grades. Remember, Remote Learning is to take place until the last day of school which is May 18, 2020.)

Tuesday, May 5   -  Lights, Camera, Action! 8th Graders, put on your best smile.

Wednesday, May 6  -  Seniors, put on your best smile. You will receive a designated time to report to the high school for the videotaping of you receiving your diploma.  Your temperature will be taken before you can enter the building. Please wear your cap and gown. You and 4 family members are allowed entrance to the high school.  Besides the video of you receiving your diploma, two pictures will be taken; one alone with your diploma and one with your family.  No additional people will be allowed in the room during taping. Good News!!  You will receive your very own copy of the graduation ceremony which will include all your classmates. This will be emailed to you on Friday. Now you can hold a special celebration with your family together in the comfort of your home at the time of your choosing.

Remember:

  • You are allowed to pick up your cap and gown this Friday from 10:00 to 1:00.  We will be passing them out in front of the high school.  You will pull up to the entrance in the circular drive and we will hand it to you along with any items that were left in your locker.
  • If you have any fees due to the district, you will need to submit payment at this time.
  • I want to assure you that we have tried to adhere to the social distancing guidelines by not allowing any gathering.  Please do not get out of your car until directed. If you bring more than the allowable number of people for the videotaping, we will politely ask that they remain in the car.  All participants will enter the front entrance, walk to the Library, and then exit the building by going out of the exit doors down the junior high hallway.
  • It is very important that you turn in your work on time so that your grades can be calculated. You must turn everything in this week or you may not graduate.  Please make sure you do this. I know each of you have worked very hard.

Sincerely,

Dr. Artman
